Arlamow

Boiler output: 7,000 kWth (1,255 kWel)

Combustion system: hydraulic reciprocating step grate

Fuel: wood chips, forest wood chips

Year of construction: 2012

Location: Poland

Project description:

“The 7,000 kWth cogeneration plant was constructed in 2010 and is the first tri-generation plant (biomass combustion, ORC and absorption plant) in Poland. The plant is the sole heat source for the Arlamow S.A. hotel. Wood chips, bark and sawdust are used as fuel in the hydraulic reciprocating step grate firing system.

The plant’s waste heat amounts to 5,500 kW (warm water 90/70°C) and 1,255 kWel are produced by an ORC module. During the summer operation, warm water is produced from 3,800 kWth and 2,700 kWth are converted into cooling (8-13°C) for the hotel’s air conditioning. This enables the plant to run in full-load operation the entire year.”
