Project description:

In 2011/2012, the company Loher Raumexklusiv built an energy centre which is equipped with two biomass boiler plants on the one hand – 6,715 kW thermal oil with ORC module for electricity production and 6,000 kW warm water for peak load coverage and as a standby boiler during the revision of the thermal oil plant – and with photovoltaic modules on the walls as well as on the roof of the boiler house on the other hand.

The electricity produced by the thermal oil boiler plant as well as the photovoltaic system are fed into the public grid. The heat produced by means of the biomass combustion serves to supply the premises on one hand and on the other hand is used for a belt dryer which dries the material for the downstream pelletising plant. Furthermore, there are plans to construct a production plant next to the energy centre, which also is to be supplied with the heat of the two plants in the future.
