“The company Betula (Baltic Block) is a Latvia-based manufacturer of innovative composite pallet blocks. It’s strategically located near the regional centre Madona.
The cogeneration plant installed there has a thermal output of 10,000 kW and an ORC module, which produces 1,775 kWel. The major part of the thermal energy is used for the own production of wooden blocks. During winter, 1 MW of the total thermal capacity is fed into the district heating of the nearby village. The electrical energy which is produced is resold to the Latvian electricity company as green energy.”
