Project description:

“The biomass cogeneration plant in Pfalzgrafenweiler was put in operation with its first feed into the public power grid in December 2007. The cogeneration plant now produces approx. 4,000 MWh of heat and approx. 2,400 MWh of electricity per year. This electricity is fed into the public grid.

The waste heat of the electricity production process is completely decoupled and made available via the local heat network as useful energy with a temperature level of 95°C. The wood for fuelling the plant comes from the surrounding region. Wood chips are used as a renewable resource. They are made from unprocessed wood fractions, which result from the management of the landscape and infrastructure but are not suitable for industrial utilisation.”
