Project description:

“Petrikovskiy RShKH is a company with 623 employees which specialises in the following tasks:

– operation of boiler houses, heating networks, production of thermal energy and supply; – repairs of thermotechnical plants; – operation and repairs of apartments, water supply, wastewater treatment; – other services, such as hotel, sauna, funeral services etc.

Petrikovskiy RShKH was a pioneer in the field of retrofitting boiler houses and in the changeover to biomass fuel in Belarus. The installed Polytechnik 7.5 MWth steam boiler plant (10 t/h, 24 bar, 350°C) supplies heat to 11,000 residents. The downstream steam turbine produces an electrical output of 850 kW.

The Polytechnik CHP plant commenced operation in 2010. The main task was the processing of wood waste from the sawmills in order to produce heat and electricity. Wood chips and sawdust with a max. water content of 50% and an ash content of 0.6% are used as fuel. The fuel consumption amounts to 4.1 t/h, or 25,100 to per year.

Preparatory works commenced in 2007. The whole project was financed by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Natural Resources, from a local budget and the Gomel innovation fund.”
